Objective

To provide a congenial atmosphere for all the students, by providing a reliable forum to register their grievances for amicable and effective remedial measures, so as to cherish their Alma for ever.

Description

Students are hailing from different parts of the state/country, with different perceptions and a variety of expectations. They may face certain issues in coping with the existing environment, prevailing official bureaucracy, academic atmosphere, teaching-learning process, hostel life and the like. These discomforts, diverse in nature, need immediate attention for smooth functioning of academic and other related matters, apart from a comfortable stay for students at Dr. NGP Institute of Technology.

In case of any problem, reporting to specific cells can be confusing as one needs to identify right cell to register his/her grievances and in this perspective. Student Affairs and Counselling Cell has been constituted as a single primary entity and vested with necessary powers to pursue the registered complaints/grievances for an amicable solution along with an intention of preserving harmony among members of various segments of Dr. NGPIT.

Students, during their stay at Dr. NGP Institute of Technology, shall report grievances of any nature, such as curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular, hostel, transport, mess, canteen, office, inter department, intra department etc., in any dimension and magnitude to Student Affairs and Counselling Cell. Grievances may be submitted in written, through email, phone, smswith an option of anonymous.The Cell, in turn, will start pursuing the issues with necessary level of secrecy, conduct a preliminary enquiry to identify the major/root cause of the problem and submit a report to Principal for remedial measures. Also, Student Affairs and Counselling Cell is empowered to enquire the persons involved directly, if needed.In order to create trust in the minds of the studentsthe details of the plaintiff and defendant will not be revealed, unless the situation warrants.

Student Affairs and Counselling Cell comprises of three members, with a Convener, usually a senior Professor. Out of the remaining two members, one faculty member is male and the other member is female. The office of Student Affairs and Counselling Cell is functioning at Room 107 in ‘D’ Block. Information on Student Affairs and Counselling Cell, such as office, phone number and email-id has been disseminated to all the students through all possible means to enable an easy approach.
